Concert organised in cooperation with the Vilnius College
During its 14 years it has visited a multitude of shrines in Lithuania’s cities and towns, and this year the advent concert Under the Church’s Vaulted Ceiling is inviting audiences to St Casimir’s Church.
According to the author of this project’s concept, Vilnius College Assoc. Prof. Dalia Babilaitė-Abarė, the idea for this kind of event was born of the “wish to make waiting for Christmas meaningful, to find works in which the search for light, love and hope is encoded”. Therefore, this concert will feature sacred and popular music works from different periods that have meaningful texts, helping us find answers to the existential questions so important to mankind.
The programme will be performed by Vilnius College Musical Theatre Studies graduates and students, taught by pedagogues: Assoc. Prof. Dalia Babilaitė-Abarė, Assoc. Prof. Eglė Juozapaitienė, Povilas Butkus, and Nijolė Baranauskaitė-Matukonienė.
The special atmosphere of Under the Church’s Vaulted Ceiling is created by purpose-designed artistic lighting, accentuating the spirit of the works being performed.
Programme features J. Rutter, P. Mascagni, M. Lorenz, G. Michael, A. Orlova and others
