St Casimir’s Church (34 Didžioji St, Vilnius)
VERENA STEFFEN (flute, Switzerland)
OLIVIER EISENMANN (organ, Switzerland)
One of the most famous organists in Switzerland, Olivier Eisenmann, is a highly anticipated guest at the main shrines around the world and at prestigious music festivals. Having made his way around just about all of Europe, and making appearances in the United States, New Zealand and Australia, the performer is pleased to have the chance to play the organ at St Casimir’s Church. Especially since he’ll be appearing with flute player Verena Steffen.
The duo is deservedly exotic – the fragility and meandrous sounds of the flute contrast well with the stoic and powerful organ. Nonetheless, the performers have chosen some real pearls for their program, which reveal how perfectly different tembres can enhance each another.
Be prepared for a fine evening with a captivating duet and some lovely musical discoveries.
Program features J. Ibert, C. Chaminade, E. Woll and others
Concert duration: 60 min
