About the event

Performers
GEDIMINAS GELGOTAS (piano)
Starting time:
8 PM
Duration:
70 min.

Have you ever wondered what life would sound like? There is no one answer, yet there is an artist willing to share his version. And that is Gediminas Gelgotas. For the first time, with no stage partners, ensemble or orchestra joining him. For the first time – simply him at the piano. For the first time – so personally, sensitively, and openly that you could call this concert an autobiography. You’ll hear piano miniatures born from the motifs of his most important works – from the earliest pieces to “The Sarabande of Vilnius”. In other words, major symphonic works will be transformed into fragile, emotional and meditative musical moments, fused into a uniform suite for solo piano.

According to Gelgotas, his aim is not to reveal the evolution of his work but to transport audiences to another reality, at least for a short while: “I hope that at this concert thoughts will settle and hearts will be awakened. I feel that today, when there’s so much anxiety and aggression around us, that is critically necessary”.

So come prepared for a special experience. You’ll be so drawn in that you might wonder where you are – in a concert hall or in the artist’s room, where he improvises for his closest circle of friends.

Programme features original compositions for piano solo by Gediminas Gelgotas
