About the event

Performers
ALEKSANDRA BOBROWSKA
(piano, Poland)
Starting time:
7 PM
Duration:
80 min.

Concert organised in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Institute in Vilnius

“It’s as if Chopin were to go on a summer trip from Warsaw’s salons to Europe’s bustling cities” – that’s how pianist Aleksandra Bobrowska describes her programme. She invites us to listen to how Chopin’s romanticism meets Paderewski’s temperament, Szymanowska’s elegance and the unique voices of other artists.

Bobrowska is an actively performing, internationally recognised pianist. In 2018 she participated in the 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments in Warsaw, while today she performs in concerts playing both modern and historical pianos. The spectrum of the performer’s repertoire ranges from Bach to Debussy, though she gives particular attention to European music and works by female composers. She is lauded by critics for her virtuoso playing, sensitivity and ability to convey music as if it were a living narrative, subtly revealing the character of each one of her pieces.

So, this evening, the piano will be your guide as you set forth on an appealing musical journey, with each work a new, unexpected stop on the old continent.

Programme features music by Fryderyk Chopin, Maria Szymanowska, Ignacy Jan Paderewski and others
