Bernardine Gardens (8A B. Radvilaitės St, Vilnius)

Piano duo:

Hungarian dances at the Bernardine Gardens!

A catchy rhythm and meandering melodies will take you back to where it all began…

One evening, while playing at a tavern, Johannes Brahms met the famous violinist  Eduard Reményi, who introduced the composer to the music of the Roma, Hungarian csárdás and verbunkos. Enchanted and inspired by these folk elements, Brahms went on to create 21 Hungarian dances for piano!

All of them shall be played by four hands, by Paulina Dūmanaitė and Joris Sodeika. The pianists suggest wearing comfortable clothing, as you never know how the concert will end…

Program: J. Brahms, Hungarian Dances for piano, 4-hands

Concert duration: approx. 70 min
