About the event

Performers
CARLOS PIÑANA
(flamenco guitar, Spain)
RAINER MARIA NERO
(guitar, Austria)

Starting time:
7 PM
Duration:
80 min.

“I am flamenco”, says Carlos Piñana. And he proves it every time he takes to the stage. In his hands, the guitar goes crazy as if in the corrida. The strings come to life, telling us about love, passion, joy and despair...  Piñana's original programme Puro Flamenco is no exception. This representative from a famous flamenco family, one of the strongest composers and performers in this genre, will be presenting it together with guitarist Rainer Maria Nero.
A laureate of numerous competitions, Rainer Maria Nero graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with honours where he studied both classical and flamenco guitar. This universality makes him a highly sought-after musician for both classical and world music projects.

What can we expect from this intriguing duet then? Different experiential backgrounds that ensure an impressive result: “Classical musicians are noted for their rich sound, while flamenco players are known for their temperament. This is why we are a perfect match, and we will certainly give the audience an out-of-the-ordinary musical treat”, reveals Piñana.

It is no secret that this is not the flamenco star's first concert in Lithuania. Hardly being able to wait for this next meeting, he admits: “It makes me so happy to give concerts here – the public understands my language perfectly, and knows how to get the most from each note from my guitar”.
Come prepared for an emotion-driven concert, where the duet will take the sounds of the guitar to convey the surging flamenco emotions of sorrow and joy, love and hate, and life and death.
